Percentage and Compound Interest
To purchase, go to iTunes
The compound interest calculator is on the second tab of the app. This app calculates the future value on your initial deposit once an interest is applied.
To use the calculator, add in the initial deposit amount in the first box on the top left of the app (1000 in example). Then add in the interest amount, i.e. 4 for 4% in the second box located in the top right of the app.
Slide the slider to choose the number of years you would like to calculate for, this has been limited to 25 years.
Finally, select whether interest is paid every month (monthly), every 3 months (quarterly) or every year (Annually).
Once inputs are in, press calculate and your answer is displayed, in the example it is 1480.2.
The percentage calculator is an app that will help calculate either the percentage one number represents of another, or calculates a percentage of a number.
x as a % of y
To calculate a number as a percentage of another, add in the numerator in the first box, 15 in the example, and the denominator in the second box, 100 in the example.
Click 'x as % of y' and press 'Calculate'. This give you the answer of 15% as in the example.
x % of y
To calculate a percentage of a number, put the percentage you desire in the first box, for instance 10 for 10%, and the number in the second, for example 500.
Select the second choice 'x% of y' and press 'Calculate', this will give you an answer of 50 in my example.
